Rotary die FAQ

Straight answers to the questions customers ask most about our tooling, industries, and support programs.

Do you offer rotary die sharpening and repair?

Yes. Our rotary die sharpening, resharpening, and repair services document incoming condition, updated diameters, and recommended pressures after every grind. Request service anytime via the "Rotary Die Sharpening, Resharpening & Repair" section on our Services page.

What industries do you serve?

Midway supports label and narrow-web converters, medical and diagnostics programs, automotive and industrial suppliers, packaging lines, and specialty applications like electronics and energy. Each industry section outlines relevant materials, die types, and internal links to solid or flexible tooling options.

Where are your rotary dies made?

All Midway Rotary dies are engineered and manufactured in our Williamston, Michigan facility. In-house grinding, heat treat, and inspection keep lead times consistent and ensure every tool ships with traceable documentation.

Do you build both solid and flexible rotary dies?

We manufacture through-hardened solid rotary dies for long runs and abrasive stacks, plus Atlas Flex compatible flexible dies for short and mid-length jobs. Application discovery sessions help you decide which format best matches the run window and changeover needs.

How fast can you turn a new die or resharpening?

Standard solid rotary die builds depend on geometry, but many programs ship in 1-2 weeks with rush options available. Resharpening averages five business days from receipt, and emergency slots can be scheduled by contacting our service team.
