Press compatibility & setup

Tsukatani flexible dies drop into the most common inline and offline converting platforms. Use a Tsukatani magnetic cylinder (up to 1,050 mm length / 250 mm diameter, ~900 mm face, 2200 Gauss), hardened anvils, and tightened side-to-side run-out for best mixed-depth control.

Tsukatani magnetic cylinders (up to 1,050 mm length / 250 mm diameter, ~900 mm face, 2200 Gauss) and magnetic plates are available, along with load-cell-equipped units and bench test modules.

Best practices

  • Zero out magnetic cylinder runout to <0.005 mm before loading dies.
  • Match anvil hardness (60+ HRC) to maintain kiss-cut consistency.
  • Log press speed, substrate, and liner thickness for future reorders.
  • Verify magnet strength on legacy cylinders; Tsukatani spec calls for 2200 Gauss.
  • Use load-cell-equipped units when possible to record pressure and repeat it on future runs.
  • Use light dry lubricant on the cylinder face only if static becomes an issue.

Troubleshooting cues

  • Adhesive tailing? Request Tsukatani’s TS coating option and clean the anvil between rolls.
  • Overcuts on fragile liners? Request the mixed-depth series (different height edges / micro-perf) with the 0.2 mm gap ceiling.
  • Registration drift? Verify die-to-die shim packs and re-square the magnetic cylinder.
